美国媒介产业发展的最大特点就是联合和集中,也就是我们说的兼并,从而形成了超级垄断的局面。大家可能会说这个马克思和列宁都说过啊,没什么可新鲜的。但是如果大家稍微了解一下现在的垄断发展到了什么程度,就会发现现在的垄断局面绝对不是马克思和列宁的时代可以想象的。从进入20世纪以来,美国的媒体一共经历过三次大的媒体合并与集中的浪潮,每次都呈现出不同的特点、规模。
The most prominent feature of the development of the U.S. media industry is its integration and concentration, which is what we call the merger, thus creating a super-monopoly situation. Everyone may say that both Marx and Lenin have said that nothing is fresh. However, if we get a glimpse of the extent to which the present monopoly has developed, we can see that the present monopoly situation is definitely not conceivable by the era of Marxism and Lenin. Since entering the 20th century, the media in the United States have experienced three major waves of media mergers and concentration in total, each presenting different characteristics and scale.
