河南平顶山市第一中学创建于1956年,是平顶山市城区建校最早的一所中学,1980年被确定为河南省首批办好的24所重点中学之一,2005年被确定为首批57所“省级示范性高中”之一。学校现有教职工268人,其中特级教师10人、市专业技术拔尖人才12人、市级名师19人、国家级骨干教师5人、省级学科带头人9人、省级骨干教师14人。
