依据南水北调中线一期工程前期勘察资料并结合试验成果,介绍并分析了南阳盆地膨胀土的生成环境、宏观特征及与膨胀土类别的相关性,提出了膨胀土现场快速判别与分类的方法及验证的物理力学指标,同时指出在膨胀土的判定与分类时应紧密结合工程类型进行,为南水北调中线一期工程南阳段膨胀土现场判别与分类提供了依据,亦可作为膨胀土地区工程地质勘察与施工的参考.
