1950年暑假期間,得到一個到青海省勘查荒地的機會,時間僅兩個月,相當短促,了解得也根膚淺,但對於這個接近康藏高原的地區却多少有了一些概念,尤其是在農業地理上和農業生產的方式方法上,更學習到了不少柬西。現將自西安至蘭州及自蘭州室西寧沿途以友再西進入柴達水盆地東南邊綠的一些小盆地上所見,略述梗概,以共一般的參考,但由於時促見淺,又加以西北各地情況日有發展,或有不少疏陋和不恰當的地方,尚希同志們予以批評指正。
