The number of newspaper readers dropped steadily According to a survey, the number of readers of American newspapers has been steadily declining over the past 30 years. The American newspaper editorial board recently published research reports on newspaper readers and put forward measures to remedy the situation in the hope of changing the status quo. Lavender, a professor at Northwestern University’s Reader’s Institute who presided over the study, said press and academia responded enthusiastically to the research report and was never seen before.
