The disease spectrum of 189 cases misdiagnosed as viral hepatitis (referred to as hepatitis) in our hospital is reported below. 1 Materials and Methods 1-1 Case Source: 189 patients who were misdiagnosed as hepatitis were hospitalized patients from January 1993 to December 1998. 1-2 Diagnostic Criteria and Methods: Hepatitis was diagnosed on admission (including transfer outside the hospital), and the patient who denied hepatitis diagnosis on discharge was mistaken.
