According to the report of the United States “Chemical Market Herald” magazine, the US Department of Energy invests more than 63 million U.S. dollars for research and development and use of hydrogen instead of gasoline as vehicle fuel. Scientists believe that hydrogen will be the main fuel for cars in the second half of the 21st century. Hydrogen has little pollution to the atmosphere, and it will not emit harmful gases such as SO_xNO_x and CO_2 when it is burned. It is in full compliance with the requirements of the United States’ Air Purification Act promulgated in 1990. Fossil fuels such as oil, natural gas, and coal are very slow to generate. They will take millions, or even billions of years, to produce a little less, and eventually they will dry up one day. However, hydrogen is an inexhaustible source of energy. It can reduce the reliance on imported oil, achieve energy self-sufficiency, and save a lot of foreign exchange for imported oil. However, in the past, the United States did not pay enough attention to research and development of hydrogen, and it lags behind countries such as Germany, Sweden, and Japan. Therefore, we must catch up now.
