纽约专电 美国、加拿大和墨西哥预定于5月开始建立北美自由贸易区的三边谈判,以便取消它们之间的关税壁垒和非关税壁垒,实现商品和服务的自由流通。如果谈判成功,这三个国家将构成一个强大的区域性经济集团,对世界经济新格局的形成将有重大影响。 这三个国家总人口达3.6亿,国民生产总值近6万亿美元,如果达成自由贸易协议,将形成世界上最大而又最富裕的统一市场。而准备在1992年建立统一市场的欧洲共同体国家,人口也不过3.37亿,国民生产总值只有4.5万亿美元。
NEW YORK SPECIALTIES The United States, Canada and Mexico are set to begin May the establishment of North American Free Trade Area trilateral negotiations in May in order to eliminate tariff barriers and non-tariff barriers between them and to achieve the free movement of goods and services. If the negotiations are successful, these three countries will form a strong regional economic group and will have a significant impact on the formation of a new global economic pattern. With a total population of 360 million and GNP of nearly 6 trillion U.S. dollars, these three countries will form the largest and richest unified market in the world if a free trade agreement is reached. The European Community countries that are preparing to establish a unified market in 1992 have a population of only 337 million and gross domestic product of only 4.5 trillion U.S. dollars.
