Liaoning Chaoyang is one of the central areas under the rule of the Liao dynasty, and is rich in Liao Dynasty territory. The numerous Liao Pagodas reflect the prosperity of Buddhist culture in the area at that time. Huanghuantan Pagoda is one of the examples.
