“十八怪者”,实乃内地人对云南少数民族生活习俗少见多怪也。其中有些“怪”、又恰恰表明了云南各族人民的生产技艺和生活智慧。 第一怪“鸡蛋拴着卖” 云南人卖鸡蛋很有意思,随手捡几把稻草,用水浸一下,然后左缠右绕,便把一只只鸡蛋拴绑成串,搭在肩上,进城去卖。鸡蛋如此包装不易破碎,而且还堪称包装技艺一绝。 第二怪“草根当锅盖”云南人的锅盖也多用稻草编成,其形状又高双尖,酷似斗笠,何以如此?原来饭甑里摞满了碗碗碟碟(盛着米饭、腊肉、香菇、菜干等吃食),如用扁平锅盖,是蒸不了几样东西的,可见云南人善于精打细算。
