The controversy over the fate of tanks has emerged in many national publications in the world in recent decades. The reason for this controversy was the enormous and rapid destruction of tanks by anti-tank weapons (anti-tank bazooka, anti-tank missiles and anti-tank missile integrated systems) in all previous partial wars. Articles in some publications have devalued the role of the tank in all types of operations. The need for further tank improvement and production is questionable. This suspicion led to a reduction in the funding of research and experimental design of tanks. In response to these questions, Lieutenant General Nicolae Yeltshof, director general of the Armored Tanks Department of the Defense Ministry of the Russian Federation, expounded his views recently in Russia’s “Military Review” magazine and compiled and published it for readers’ reference.
