高硅耐酸铸铁因具有十分优良的耐酸性能和资源丰富等特点,它为化工、化肥、石油、人造纤维、有色金属冶炼等工业部门普遍应用的材料。随着我国工业生产的发展,要求大量优质耐酸铸铁件(如耐酸泵、蒸馏器、管道……),而高硅耐酸铸铁的普遍应用,将为节约我国镍路资源开辟重要途径。但是高硅耐酸铸铁在我国目前生产上存在的普遍问题是铸件脆裂现象严重,铸造废品率高达40~60%,报废的主要原因是由于铸件开裂和气孔,同时在铸件的搬运,按装和使用过程中碎裂,这给高硅耐酸铸铁的生产和使用带来了很大的困难。既然高硅耐酸铸铁件主要质量问题之一是脆裂,从金属强度概念着眼,铸件开裂意味着金属基体中原子键合强
