彭桓武,湖北麻城人,著名理论物理学家,“两弹一星功勋奖章”获得者。1915年10月出生于吉林长春,1935年毕业于清华大学物理系。曾任云南大学、清华大学、北京大学教授;历任中科院近代物理研究所副所长、二机部九所副所长、中科院高能物理所副所长、二机部九院副院长、中科院理论物理研究所所长等职。现为中国科学院理论物理研究员、中国科学院院士、皇家爱尔兰科学院院士。
Peng Huanwu, Hubei Macheng, a well-known theoretical physicist, “two bombs and one satellite meritorious medal” winner. Born in Changchun, Jilin in October 1915, graduated from Department of Physics, Tsinghua University in 1935. Former Yunnan University, Tsinghua University, Peking University professor; served as deputy director of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of modern physics, the second deputy director of the nine aircraft, Institute of High Energy Physics, deputy director of the second machine, nine vice president of the Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Physics and other staff. Now Chinese Academy of theoretical physics researcher, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Royal Academy of Ireland.
