Is World Wide Web easy to use? My colleague Bob Metcalfe recently made the limelight in his special paper predicting that the Internet will collapse in 1996. Of course, my professional opinion is contrary to Bob’s point of view. I know Bob is a guy who likes to get in trouble, maybe he did not take his prediction seriously. However, after some recent experiences, I started thinking that Bob might be right. InfoWorld magazine hosts a virtual conference and trade show called InterAct 96, which is actually hosted by Stratus Computer. To fully participate in the conference, you need to download and install a variety of software - the latest version of Netscape or Microsoft Browser software; video software; audio software; and software to watch 3-D VRML trade show booths (especially Black Sun The company’s Cybergate, if you want to view booth staff); and some conference-specific talk software.
