《死心眼的水手头目》是英国著名小说家拉迪亚德·吉卜林的短篇小说之一,讲述了一位印度水手长因复仇将一位非洲水手杀死后,自己最终也因杀人而被处以绞刑的故事。东方主义是指研究者抱着十八、十九世纪的欧洲帝国主义态度来理解东方世界,又或是指外来人对东方文化及人文的旧式及带有偏见的理解。本文主要探讨了作者吉卜林在这篇短篇小说中所表现出的东方主义倾向。
One of the short stories by the famous British novelist Radial Jiblin tells the story of an Indian sailor who killed an African sailor because of revenge and eventually killed himself as a result of murder Was hanged story. Orientalism means that researchers hold the attitude of the European imperialists in the 18th and 19th centuries to understand the oriental world or refer to the old-fashioned and biased understanding of oriental culture and humanity by foreigners. This article mainly explores the orientalist tendency shown by author Kipling in this short story.
