1947年冷战的阴影开始笼罩世界,东西方冲突如箭在弦。但令西方领导层窘迫的是,西方对苏联战略情报了解几乎停留在二战前的状态,几幅缴获的德国地图也只标明了苏联欧洲部分领土的大致情况,而苏联亚洲部分领土对西方来说仍是“海市蜃楼”。所以西方不惜违背国际法,派出军用飞机侵入苏联领空进行秘密的纵深侦察,这就是“和平时期空中侦察计划”(PARPRO)。
The shadow of the Cold War in 1947 began to shrouded the world, and conflicts between East and West were on the cutting edge. But to the distress of the western leadership, the Western understanding of the Soviet strategic intelligence almost remained in pre-WWII conditions. The seized maps of Germany only indicated the general situation of some parts of the Soviet Union’s territory in Europe, while part of the Soviet Union’s territories in Asia were for the West Still “mirage”. Therefore, the West, despite violating international law, dispatched a military plane to penetrate the Soviet airspace for secret deep reconnaissance, which is known as PARPRO.
