我新近去苏联参加了巴伐洛夫百年生日纪念会,回国之後,不知作了多少次关於苏联的公开演讲及私人谈话,自思关於一个知道得那末少的地方,生平从未说过那末多的话,颇难为情,但亦是无可奈何的事。新中国人民对於苏联的兴趣是如此高,而对於苏联的实际情况又如此隔膜,一个新自苏联回来的人是有作报告的义务似的。我现在因张孟闻先生的关照和督促,索性把此次赴苏的经过及见闻写出,作为最後的交代。
I recently went to the Soviet Union to attend the Centennial Memorial Day in Bavaria. After I returned to China, I did not know how many times I had made public and private talks on the Soviet Union. I never thought of it ever since I was thinking about a place I knew less. It is rather embarrassing, but it is also a helpless thing. The interest of the new Chinese people in the Soviet Union is so high, and so is the case with the Soviet Union that a new person returning from the Soviet Union is obliged to make a report. I am now due to the care and supervision of Mr. Zhang Mengwen, simply write down the story of this trip to the Soviet Union and as a last resort.
