经过半年多的筹备,“中国电信杯”中国首届青少年国际互联网络知识大赛终于启动了。作为大赛的策划组织者之一,我想对这次大赛的意义谈一些看法,这些看法也是一段时期以来我在大赛组委会的工作人员中和来访的记者中反复讲过的。 举办这样一个大规模的知识大赛,究竟有哪些好处呢? 首先,它表明了我国政府的一种开放态度,这将对网络在中国的发展起决定性作用。互联网络是个新事物,信息科学的脚步也越走越快。面对信息革命的冲击,政府的态度和作用对一个国家在这种冲击面前,是前行还是落伍具有决定性的意义。一年多前,当我们认为在中国推进网络发展极其重要,为了这种推进,最好组织一个全国性的知识大赛的创意刚刚萌生时,立刻得到上级有关领导的重视,策划报告提交国务院信息办后,很快得到支持和批准。随后,国务院有关方面领导同志多次打电话询问此事并给我们许多具体的指示,希望通过这次比赛向世界表明中国政府鼓励青少年一代勇敢地走上信息化道路,面向21世纪争先奋进的态度。正是在这种总的指导思想之下,这次大赛才设计成了一
