威.艾.伯.杜波依斯是杰出的美国黑人领袖,他在经典之作《黑人的灵魂》中,提出“双重意识”与“帷幕”的概念,犀利深刻地道出了美国黑人长期以来的尴尬身份。作为黑人男性精英,杜波依斯却不曾忽视妇女问题,他尤其重视黑人女性的境况。除了积极参与美国妇女组织的活动外,他的长篇小说塑造了多个具有独立个性的黑人女性形象,并撰写多篇散文,歌颂黑人女性宽容,坚毅等神圣而美好的品质。通过分析杜波依斯创作中黑人女性形象可以发现,杜波依斯通过颂扬黑人女性的“母性”来宣扬黑人民族的真善美以及非洲文明的厚重。
Wei Ai Bo. Du Bois is an outstanding African American leader, he in the classic “the soul of blacks”, put forward the “double awareness” and “curtain” concept, sharp and profound Afro-American long-standing embarrassment. As an elite black man, Dubois did not neglect the issue of women. He paid particular attention to the situation of black women. In addition to being an active participant in the activities of American women’s organizations, his novels have shaped many black women with independent personality and wrote many essays to praise the sacred and beautiful qualities of black women such as tolerance and perseverance. By analyzing the images of black women in Dubois, we can find Dubois promotes the truth, beauty and beauty of black people and the thicknesses of African civilization by praising the “motherhood” of black women.
