通常,人们把固体对气体的吸收称之为吸附。吸附热能制冷技术,是利用某些固体物质如沸石、活性炭、氯化钙、分子筛、硅胶等,具有选择性的吸附易气化的物质,如水、甲醇、液氨等特性,达到吸附—气化—吸热,加热—脱附—冷凝循环进行,从而实现制冷。虽然本世纪初吸附热能制冷技术就已经诞生,但由于当时存在着诸如循环加热脱附时间长、制冷温度高及温度波动大等难题,再加上高效CFC压缩制冷技术产品的出现,因而使吸附热能制冷技术长期以来非但没有专著和产品上市,就连教课书上也没有一席之地,几乎处于冬眠状态。
