The eighth century witnessed the birth ofan outstanding Tibetan medical scientist and his classic medical works—Yutok Yonten Gonpo and his Four Medical Tantras—and both would remain influential for centuries. As the founder ofthe theoretical system ofTibetan medicine, Yutok Yonten Gonpo made impressive contributions to medical science,for which he was widely praised.
