神经形态计算(neuromorphic computing)的一个新思路,是将它的功能整合到辅助眼镜中,从而在复杂的环境里为有视觉障碍的人们提供导航,而不需要无线网络连接。过去的几年里,技术公司和科研人员都在努力构造神经形态的计算机结构——即模拟人脑能力制造出的芯片,它既有分析能力,又有人脑般的直觉,这样才能处理大量的数据。如今,这份努力已经带来了里程碑式的成果——科学家已经生产出一种集成了54亿个晶体管的芯片,包含4000多个神经突触核心。
A new idea of neuromorphic computing is to integrate its functionality into accessory glasses to provide navigation for visually impaired people in complex environments without the need for a wireless network connection. Over the past few years, technology companies and researchers are struggling to construct neuromorphic computer structures - chips that mimic the ability of the human brain to create analytics and brain-like intuitions that can handle large numbers of data. Now, this effort has brought milestones - scientists have produced a chip that integrates 5.4 billion transistors and contains more than 4,000 synapses.
