网球是较早进入中国的现代竞技体育项目之一,但时至今日,尽管电视、报刊拿出了不少时段和版面,意在营造出一种网球火热的气氛,但实际上却少有“火”得起来的迹象。犹如说起篮球,中国球迷首先想到的是 NBA 而不会是中国篮球甲级联赛一样,说起网球,闪现于球迷唇间耳际的大多是阿加西、桑普拉斯、贝克尔这样的顶尖高手,最起友也是风光如张德培之流而断然不会中国的夏嘉平、易景茜等人。
Tennis is one of the earliest modern competitive sports to enter China.
