在航空发动机发展中主要要求之一是更加节省燃料,其中主要措施是提高燃烧温度,而这两项关键因素是采用耐热Fe、Ni和Co基合金,以及在热反应气体和发动机部件之间的空气膜冷却。当冷空气流过发动机发热部件上的密集小孔时,便形成这种冷空气膜。Nd:YAG激光加工中心的主要任务是打这些冷却小孔。目前最常用的耐高温材料有镍基合金(Hastelloy)、铬镍铁合全(Inconel)和镍铬钛合金(Nimonic)等。这些材料对激光加工参数要求基本上相同,但是它们在所打的孔表面质量是有明显区别的。
