张冠涛是山东荷泽农村的一位普通青年,他原来的理想是做一名职业运动员,由于眼睛近视,最终他放弃了这一梦想。中学毕业后,家里凑钱让他上了一所印刷职业技校,后来还在荷泽找到了一份工作,但因为工厂效益不好,去年他下岗了。在帮家里干农活的同时,他最大的爱好就是通过电视和报刊,了解国内外的体育比赛,而关于2008年北京奥运会的消息,更是他关注的重点。像许多中国青年一样,张冠涛总想为奥运会做点力所能及的事情。
Zhang Guantao is an ordinary youth in Heze, Shandong Province. His original ideal was to be a professional athlete. Eventually, he abandoned the dream because of myopic eyes. After graduating from high school, he got a job at home and got a printed vocational school. He later found a job in Heze, but he was laid off last year because of poor factory efficiency. While helping his family to do farm work, his greatest hobby is to learn about sports events both at home and abroad through television and newspapers. The news about the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games is even more of a focus of his concern. Like many Chinese youths, Zhang Guantao always wants to do something within the capabilities of the Olympics.
