近年来,湖南省沙田柚发展迅速,仅江永县已超过1000 ha。但由于沙田柚存在自交不亲和的问题,在生产上出现开花多,结果少,因而产量不高。湖南农学院园艺系罗先实副教授等,从1991年开始,与江永县合作,在该县粗石江镇一柚园,以13年生压条柚树作试验,开展了沙田柚的优质高产栽培技术研究,取得显著的成绩。10月25日,省内有关专家教授在江永县通过听取汇报,现场考察,就地测产,农户座谈等,一致指出该项技术应尽快推广应用。
