BZXJ是设计钻探深度为200m的超轻型冰岩芯机械钻机。该钻机总重量130kg,其中动力钻头部分仅重11kg。设备总体三维体积不大于1.2×0.4×0.4m。切削时消耗功率200W。平均切削速度为8—10mm/s。1990年11月应用该钻在天山1号冰川成功地完成了一次冰川透底钻探。在顶部40m,钻探进尺速度为5—6m/h,90m平均进尺速度为3m/h。实践证明,这种钻机具有重量轻、体积小、运输便利、操作简单、钻探效率高、岩芯质量好等优点,适于在高寒地区冰川上开展冰岩芯钻取工作。
