陈省身是浙江嘉兴秀水县人,1911年10月28日(辛亥年九月初七)出生。少年时代的陈省身即显露数学才华。本着独立自由之精神,在其数学生涯中,五经抉择,努力攀登,终成辉煌。陈省身是美国国家科学院院士、美国艺术科学院院士,曾获得美国国家科学奖章,又是英国皇家学会外籍会员,意大利Lincei科学院外籍院士,法国科学院外籍院士,第三世界科学院的创始成员,巴西科学院通讯院士,1995年当选为首批中国科学院外籍院士,曾先后主持,创办了三大数学研究所,桃李遍天下,造就了一大批世界知名的数学家。 1984年5月,陈省身荣获1983—1984年度沃尔夫奖。获奖证书的引文
Chen was born in Xiujiang, Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province, October 28, 1911 (Xinhai September seventh day) was born. Chen’s childhood youth body that is exposed mathematical talent. In the spirit of independence and freedom, in his mathematical career, after making a choice, strive to climb, eventually brilliant. Chern was an academician of the National Academy of Sciences and an academician of the American Academy of Arts. He was awarded a Medal of National Science in the United States, a Foreign Member of the Royal Society, a Foreign Member of the Lincei Academy of Sciences in Italy, a Foreign Member of the French Academy of Sciences and a founding member of the Third World Academy of Sciences. In 1995, he was elected as the first foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has successively presided over and founded three major mathematical research institutes. Peaches and plums spread all over the world and created a large number of world famous mathematicians. In May 1984, Chern won the Wolf Prize 1983-1984. Citation certificate
