室韦是东胡系诸部族中比较重要的一支,而东胡系是我国古代东北地区三大少数部族系统之一。室韦自北魏至五代活动于政治舞台,隶属于北魏、北齐、隋、唐等王朝,到了辽代被契丹族所吞并,从此销声匿迹。室韦来源于乌桓、鲜卑,而演变为鞑靼。所以,研究室韦问题,对于研究南北朝史、隋唐五代史、辽史、鞑靼史,都是十分必要的。
Shi Wei is one of the more important clans in the East Hu clan. The East Hu clan is one of the three minor tribal systems in northeast China. Wei from the Northern Wei Dynasty to the Five Dynasties activities in the political arena, under the Northern Wei, Northern Qi, Sui and Tang dynasties, to the Liao Dynasty was annexed by the Khitan family, and then disappeared. Room Wei from Wuhuan, Xianbei, and evolved into Tartars. Therefore, the problem of research institutes is very necessary for studying the history of the Southern and Northern Dynasties, the history of the Five Dynasties of the Sui and Tang Dynasties, the history of Liao and the history of Tartars.
