12月8日,黑龙江省东方红林业局职工王克军上山采药,遭遇东北虎被咬伤。为寻东北虎的踪迹,12月9日,东方红林业局广播电视局记者郑晓兵和陈晓红,再向虎山行,冒着生命危险,拍下了野生东北虎的镜头。此消息相继在黑龙江电视台和中央电视台播出后,引起很大反响。多少年来,野生东北虎似乎在黑龙江省已经绝迹。这几年曾有人发现野生东北虎的足迹和粪便,但却没有捕捉到它的影子,因此,这次记者险些付出生命代价摄下的野生东北虎的真实镜头,格外珍贵而有意义。
