目前长江中下游地区栽培的梨主要是砂梨系统(P. pyrifolia Nakai),其中最早熟品种的成熟期为7月底,与西洋梨(P. communis L.)相比,这种早熟梨的肉质粗,风味不够浓。作者利用二个不同系统的亲本,通过种间杂交,育出了适于本地区丰产栽培,果实生育期仅73天的极早熟梨新品系——珍珠梨。该梨风味佳,产量高。极早熟珍珠梨在果实成熟期和经济性状方面,接近或超过世界各国曾广泛栽培的极早熟梨品种伏茄梨(Beurre Giffard)和小伏梨(Madeleine)品种。
At present, pear cultivated in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River is mainly composed of P. pyrifolia Nakai, of which maturity of the earliest varieties is the end of July, compared with that of P. communis L. Thick, flavor is not strong enough. Using two parents of different systems, the authors breed a very early-maturing pear new line pearl pear suitable for high-yield cultivation in the region with a fruit growth period of only 73 days through interspecific hybridization. The pears have good flavor and high yield. Very early pearl pear in the fruit maturity and economic traits, close to or surpass the world has widely cultivated very early pear varieties of Beaure Giffard (Pearle Giffard) and Madeleine variety.
