This paper mainly puts forward the viewpoint different from the traditional one about the relationship between the Westernization and the Reformist in the reform movement. The author believes that in the reform movement, the combination of the Westernization and the Reformists led to their initial combination in the thought of change. However, after all, they represent fundamental differences between the interests of the two classes and their political opinions. Therefore, they soon parted ways to cooperate. Although the Westernization and Reformists were divided, the Westernizationists did not conspire with the die-hards to suppress the reformers. They only acted as a centrist in the reform movement.
