本文记述了米象(Sitophilus oryzae Linnaeus)和玉米象(Sitophilus zeamaisMotschulsky)种间杂交初步研究情况。米象和玉米象的外形没有明显区别。关于这两个虫种的定名,以前有过较长时期的争论。笔者通过对米象与玉米象配对杂交,单独饲养,发现两种虫能进行交配,但杂交成功率不高,77.9%的配对没有产生杂交子一代,只有22.1%的配对能产生杂交子一代。而在产生的杂交子一代中,出现可育型与不育型。可育型有正常繁殖能力,能产生正常后代。不育型无繁殖能力,解剖其雌、雄虫生殖器,发现有介于米象和玉米象之间的雌、雄虫生殖器虫体。由此看来,米象和玉米象的亲缘关系极为相近,在进化过程中分化尚不完全。
This article describes a preliminary study of interspecific cross between Sitophilus oryzae Linnaeus and Sitophilus zeamais Motschulsky. There is no obvious difference between the appearance of rice and corn elephant. Regarding the naming of these two species of insects, there have been controversies over a longer period of time. The author found that the two kinds of insects could be mated by mating with the maize elephant, and breeding alone. However, the success rate of hybridization was not high, 77.9% mate did not produce hybrid progeny, and only 22.1% mate could produce hybrid progeny. In the generation of hybrids, fertile and sterile forms appear. Fertile normal reproductive capacity, can produce normal offspring. Sterility without reproductive capacity, dissection of their female and male genitalia, found between the rice and corn elephant female and male genital worms. Seen in this light, the relationship between rice and corn elephant is very similar, differentiation is not complete in the evolutionary process.
