观赏越歌剧《简·爱》,有耳目一新之感。我认为,该剧不但在越剧的音乐、说白、戏剧元素等诸方面都站住了脚跟,同时融入大量西洋歌剧元素,为越剧的革新作了一次成功、坚实的探索。“越歌剧”的定名,是个明智之举,它为越剧的革新定了一个新的框架,开辟了越剧发展的双轨途径。这样一来,我们可以基本划分出传统的“老越剧”、创新的“新越剧”这两个领域,既让依然拥有大量观众的“老越剧”继续演下去,使热爱“老越剧”的观众们安心;又让越剧通过改革适应新时代年轻观众的需要、符合时代发展的要求。

In my opinion, the play not only has its heels in the aspects of Yue opera’s musical, plain language and dramatic elements, but also incorporates a large number of elements of Western operas to make a successful and firm exploration for the reform of Yue Opera. It is a wise move for the opera “Yue Opera” to set a new framework for the reform of Yue Opera and open up a dual track for the development of Yue Opera. In this way, we can basically divide the two fields of traditional “old Yue Opera” and “innovation” into “new Yue Opera”, so as to let the “old Yue Opera” that still has a large audience continue to play and make love “Old Yue Opera ” audience feel relieved; also let Yue opera through reform to meet the needs of a new audience of new era, in line with the requirements of the development of the times.
