Toxoplasmosis is one of the causes of birth defects and congenital malformations 〔1〕. About 90,000 congenital toxoplasmosis children are born in our country each year [2], which brings a heavy burden to the country and family and affects the improvement of population quality. To understand the Toxoplasma gondii infection in Nanchang, we conducted a serological and histopathological survey of abandoned children adopted by Nanchang Social Welfare Institute in July 1999.
