西安八仙宫是道教的全真十方丛林,早课是八仙宫道人每日必行的修持科仪。笔者在八仙官的实地考察中发现,道人们因从道经历的长短、感悟道性的深浅、体会音乐的参差,即使是同一宫观所做的同一科仪,在不同时间、不同环境下也会截然不同。鉴于此,笔者在对西安八仙宫早课仪式及其音乐作客观描述的基础上,将音乐在仪式中扮演的角色、功能、作用、意义,以及因人而异表现在仪式行为上的细微差异作为重点进行了分析。
