This article aims to observe the effects of carbon disulfide (CS2) on gonadotrophin and spermatogenic function in exposed workers. The CS2 average concentration (geometric mean) of workers working place was 32.60 ± 5.14mg / m3, which was about 2 times higher than the national allowable concentration. Serum testosterone (T) was measured in 18 CS2 workers exposed to excessive concentrations for long- Luteinizing hormone (LH) and interstitial cell stimulating hormone (FSH) were measured. Some parameters of 16 workers were observed. The results showed that the concentration of serum LH and FSH in CS2 exposure group was significantly higher than that in control group (P <0.01), while the sperm count and serum T concentration in CS2 group were significantly lower than those in control group (P <0.05) . The rate of deformity was higher than that of the control group, but not statistically significant. The results of this study showed that CS2 caused certain damage to gonadal endocrine function of exposed workers and reduced the function of spermatogenesis.
