禹之鼎为康熙年间著名画家,在清代画史上占有重要地位。他博才多能,善画人物,尤以肖像写真著称,风格标举;山水、花鸟亦精妙出神。其画名在当时就享有盛誉,众多达官显贵争相请其画像留影,如王士祯、王原祁、乔莱、徐乾学等,可谓“每遇佳士必写真”。禹之鼎画迹存世较为丰富,而广东省博物馆所藏的《周仪像》,目前仅被收录于《中国古代绘画图目》,不见于一般画集画
Yu Ding was a famous painter during the reign of Emperor Kangxi, occupying an important position in the history of the Qing Dynasty. He is versatile, good painting characters, especially in portraiture known, style marked; landscapes, birds and flowers are also exquisite. The name of his painting was renowned at the time, many dignitaries compete for their images, such as Wang Shizhen, Wang Yuan Qi, Qiao Lai, Xu Qian Xue, can be described as “every encounter Christie will be photo ”. Yu’s tripod is rich in surviving survivals, while the “Zhouyi Xiang” hidden in the Guangdong Provincial Museum is currently only included in the “Picture of Ancient Chinese Paintings”
