有一次,担任《新文学史料》主编的牛汉先生,专程去拜访舒芜,我也随同前往,有幸结识了他。我并不在《新文学史料》编辑部工作,又没有组稿的任务,跟着去,纯粹是出于好奇,只是想见见这位在中国现当代文学史、思想史上,曾一度大名鼎鼎的风云人物。舒芜1979年秋离开人文社,调到《中国社会科学》杂志社工作,当时已经退休。他住的是皂君庙社科院宿舍的一套单元房,客厅的家具很简单,而且很旧,但西墙上悬挂着的书斋名
