Objective To evaluate the nutritional status and nutritional support of patients with hospice care by means of nutritional assessment and to compare different indicators. Methods The total body weight, serum albumin and total lymphocyte count were measured in 200 patients in our hospital for hospice ward. The patients’ nutritional support was classified and the average survival time was calculated and compared. Results Among the 200 patients, malnutrition was found in 135 cases (67.5%). The total number of TPNs was 61 in 200 patients, and the other 139 patients were given oral diet or routine peripheral vein nutrition. The TPN survival rate Significantly longer. Conclusions The incidence of malnutrition in hospice patients is high, and malnutrition is related to the prognosis of the disease. The TPN group can improve the nutritional status of patients and prolong the survival period.
