动物和植物的细胞培养经常遇到的一个问题是,长期培养的细胞遗传性不稳定,如染色体数目常会发生变化。在细胞培养中,动物的体细胞一般没有发育全能性,而植物的体细胞则常有发育全能性,但也可能失去发育的全能性。我们实验室对海带单倍体细胞的培养,从1975年起,已有若干年没有遇到上述的难题。突变是有的,但很少。发育全能性能保持,但发育情况表现复杂。例如不少克隆发育比较缓慢,特别是经过多年培养的细胞,发育比较不整齐。如何促进多年培养的海带单倍体细胞大量地表现发育全能性,是本实验探索的主要目标。这是有关海带单倍体细胞克隆遗传稳定性的问题。
