河北区业余大学是一所区办学校。它担负着培养区管工厂、企业事业单位职工,提高他们的政治、文化、技术水平的任务。现在设有中文、外语、财经、机械、电机、化工等六个专业,在学学员一千二百三十人,教职员工四十六人。几年来,该校在上级党委领导下,以党的基本路线为纲,走《五·七指示》、《七·二一指示》的道路,坚持无产阶级政治挂帅,实行开门办学。先后在校内外共开办各种类型的班级九十八个,已结业的学员四千五百○九人,为造就工人阶级知识分子的队伍,做出一定贡献,受到有关单位广大职工的欢迎。
Amateur University in Hebei District is a district school. It shoulders the task of training district management factories and enterprises and institutions and workers and raising their political, cultural and technological levels. There are now six major programs in Chinese, foreign languages, finance and economics, machinery, electrical engineering and chemical engineering. There are 1230 students enrolled and 46 staff members. Over the past few years, under the leadership of the Party committees at the higher levels, the school has taken the basic line of the Party as a key link and taken the “Five-seventh Instruction” and “July 21 Directions” as its guideline. It insisted on proletarian politics and started running schools. In 1984, a total of 989 graduated students of all types were enrolled at home and abroad, making a contribution to creating a contingent of working-class intellectuals. They were welcomed by a large number of workers and staff of the relevant units.
