1980年初,我们接受了四川大学图书馆设计任务。该校为全国重点综合大学之一;历史悠久,现有文、理科专业25个,学生4200人,藏书185万册,其中包括特藏善本部分8万多册。该馆既要求作为全校的情报资料中心,又兼有教育部西南地区文科外国教材中心图书馆和联合国科教文组织出版物收藏馆,还附设一个300座的学术报告厅。拟定新馆规模15000平方米,藏书量220万册,师生阅览座位1800座。
In early 1980, we accepted the Sichuan University library design task. The school is one of the key comprehensive universities in the country; it has a long history, 25 literature and science majors, 4,200 students, and 1.85 million books, including more than 80,000 copies of rare books. The museum is required to serve as the university’s intelligence data center, as well as the Ministry of Education’s Southwestern Liberal Arts Libraries and the UNESCO Publications Collection, as well as a 300-seat academic lecture hall. The new museum is planned to have a scale of 15,000 square meters, with 2.2 million book collections and 1800 seats for teachers and students.
