彻底治理蝗灾,可以改变蝗虫体内相关基因,让蝗虫变“聋子”。科学家找到的办法是通过改动蝗虫的基因序列,改变蝗虫体内和多巴胺以及嗅觉相关的功能,让它们无法对同伴发出的信息给出应答。形象地说,就是关闭蝗虫体内的信息应答系统,无法形成统一行动,难以对农作物造成大面积威胁。目前,这一成果已经成为国际害虫治理的新方向。
The complete elimination of locust plagues can change the genes involved in locusts and allow locusts to become “deaf.” What scientists have found out is that they can not respond to messages from their peers by altering the locust’s genetic sequence and changing locust’s dopamine and olfactory-related functions. To be vivid, it is to shut down the locust’s information response system, unable to form a unified action and make it difficult to pose a large-scale threat to crops. At present, this achievement has become the new direction of international pest management.
