Ministry of Education and State Language Commission of China issued the first standard for grading Chinese language proficiency of international learners on March 24. The standard will come into force on July 1.rnGF0025-2021, Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education, determines learners' language proficiency level by assessing their listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation abilities, based on 4 basic elements: syllables, Chinese characters, words and grammar. It is applicable to the learning, teaching, examination and assessment in international Chinese language education.
