Objective To compare the sexual behavior characteristics of sex-seeking partners who are most often found in MSMs in Liuzhou, and provide a theoretical basis for HIV knowledge dissemination and behavioral interventions. Methods From October to December 2008, the volunteers recruited respondents through online propaganda, friends’ introduction and intervention propaganda, and conducted questionnaire surveys by anonymous face-to-face interrogation to classify the places they most often went to for sexual partners . Results A total of 300 people were surveyed. Among them, 50.7% of the people looking for sexual partners were parks, public toilets and grasslands (group a) and 38.3% of them looking for sexual partners frequently through the Internet (group b). The percentage of first-time sexual partners in group a was male partners (46.7%) than in group b (62.2%). The rate of anal intercourse with men (87.5%) in group a was lower than that in group b (92.2%) in the last 6 months, and that of condom use was lower in anal sex. In the recent 6 months, the proportion of sexual behaviors of women in group a and group b was 47.4% and 20.0% respectively (P <0.01); and the proportion of condom use in women who had sex with each time was very low. Group a had higher rates of sexual activity with men than group b by paying money or getting money (p <0.01), and the proportion of condom use in anal intercourse between group a and men was lower than in group b. Conclusion In group a, the rate of marriage and heterosexuality is higher, and there is a higher proportion of unprotected sex with men and women, and the monitoring and comprehensive intervention of this population should be strengthened in a targeted manner.
