哈金为美国当代华裔作家,在美国国内多次荣获作家奖项。《等待》是哈金的第二篇长篇小说。小说主要描述了三个主人公的命运,军医孔林,其妻子舒玉以及和孔林在同一所医院工作的护士长吴曼娜。本文主要从旧时女子三从四德的这点来分析舒玉这个人物性格。再次,论文通过分析舒玉与她丈夫孔林以及与她情敌吴曼娜之间的关系解释舒玉所在新世界。最后得出了本文的结论,既女性须随着时代的变化而对自身做出相应的变化,须跟上时代的节奏。
Hakkin is a contemporary American writer in the United States and has won many authors’ awards in the United States. Waiting is Hakkin’s second novel. The novel mainly describes the fate of the three protagonists. Kong Lin, a medic, and his wife, Shu Yu, and Wu Manna, a nurse who works with Konglin in the same hospital. This article mainly analyzes the character of Shu Yu from the point of view of the old woman from three virtues. Thirdly, the paper explains Shu Yu’s new world by analyzing the relationship between Shu Yu and her husband Kong Lin and her rival Wu Manna. Finally, the conclusion drawn in this paper is that both women and men have to make corresponding changes to themselves as the times change, and they must keep up with the rhythm of the times.
