“合作原则”是由美国语言哲学家格莱斯在哈佛大学的演讲中提出的。格赖斯认为,在人们交际过程中,对话双方似乎在有意无意地遵循着某一原则,以求有效地配合从而完成交际任务。在处理翻译活动当中,我们同样需要考虑合作原则以期获得相对准确的理解并做出恰当的表述,从而使交际活动获得成功。
“Cooperative Principle ” was put forward by the American language philosopher Grice in his speech at Harvard University. Grice believes that in the process of people’s communication, both parties to the dialogue seem to follow a certain principle intentionally or unintentionally, in order to effectively cooperate in accomplishing the task of communication. In dealing with translation activities, we also need to consider the principle of cooperation in order to obtain a relatively accurate understanding and make appropriate statements, so as to make the communicative activities succeed.
