1983年10月下旬的一天,在美国坎萨斯城曼哈顿的拉达姆旅馆内第三届国际储藏品害虫工作会议秘书处,笔者见到日本罔山大学应用昆虫学系的吉田敏治教授。当天他见到中国代表陈启宗副教授和沈兆鹏先生。我因住在洲际旅馆,次日在美丽的坎萨斯州立大学校园才得机会交谈。吉田教授还特地给我们四位中国学者拍照。他在大会宣读的论文题目是“储藏品害虫在日本的历史变化”,
One day in late October 1983, at the 3rd Secretariat of the International Conference on Storage Pests in Rattan Hotel, Manhattan, Kansas City, USA, the author met Professor Yoshida Morita of the Department of Applied Entomology at Fujisan University in Japan. On the very same day, he met Chinese Deputy Professor Chen Qizong and Mr. Shen Zhaopeng. I live in the Intercontinental Hotel, the next day in the beautiful campus of Kansas State had the opportunity to talk. Professor Yoshida specially photographed four Chinese scholars. The paper he read at the conference was titled “Historical Changes in the Storage Pests in Japan.”
