“中国及毗邻海域第四纪地质图”海区编图会议于1983年10月27日至11月1日在上海召开.来自地质矿产部南海地质调查指挥部、海洋地质研究所、海洋地质调查局和水文地质工程地质研究所等八个单位的24名代表出席了会议.“中国及毗邻海区第四纪地质图”主编、研究员张宗祜,海洋地质调查局总工程师杨启伦在开幕式上讲了话,指出:编制“中国及毗邻海域第四纪地质图”对我国的地质研究和国民经济建设都有着十分重要的意义,因而这次编图被列为地质矿产部重点科研项目.海区部分的编图又对整个图件的完成起着举足轻重的作用,为海区编图的完成打好基础.负责海区编图的南海地质调查指挥部、海洋地质研究所、海洋地质调查局三个单位分别介绍了各自的编图工作进展及编图过程中碰到的一些问题,会上还展示了30多幅图件.
